The Crane Field is currently in development. Before entering full production, we are producing and evaluating a physical prototype to make sure the final watch lives up to the concept Michael Crane and La Touraine set out to create.

THE CRANE FIELD

A Timepiece With a Purpose.

The Crane Field is a hand-wound mechanical field watch created through a collaboration between Michael Crane and La Touraine Watches.

But this project became about something much bigger than watches.

Michael and I have both experienced the devastating loss of our mothers to pancreatic cancer.

We know what this disease takes from families. We know what it means to wish you had more time.

So we decided to create something together that could honor our mothers, recognize every family affected by pancreatic cancer, and help contribute to the fight against it.

The Crane Field is that watch.

Net proceeds from the Crane Field will be donated to Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Because of the charitable nature of this release, discount codes will not be accepted on purchases of the Crane Field. If one is submitted, the order will be canceled and refunded.

The Crane Field was created in memory of our mothers and in honor of the countless people and families whose lives have been changed by pancreatic cancer.

A TRUE COLLABORATION

The Crane Field was designed collaboratively by Michael Crane and La Touraine from the beginning.

Rather than simply putting two names on an existing watch, we wanted to create something with its own identity.

A compact mechanical field watch.

A tactile dial unlike anything else in the La Touraine lineup.

A hand-wound movement that makes interacting with the watch part of the experience.

And subtle details throughout the design that connect the watch to the reason it exists.

The result is a watch designed to be interesting enough for the enthusiast, practical enough for everyday wear, and meaningful enough to remind you why time matters.

 

THREE DIALS. ONE STORY.

The Crane Field will be available in three distinctive colors:

Pistachio 

A muted, earthy green with a linen-inspired crumpled-paper texture that gives the dial natural depth and character.

Cherry Blossom 

A warm, understated pink featuring a lightly crumpled-paper texture inspired by the imperfect, tactile character of handmade paper.

Purple

A distinctive purple dial combining linen and crumpled-paper textures for a layered appearance that changes subtly with the light.

Each dial has been designed to feel tactile rather than glossy, with a paper-like surface that gives the Crane Field a personality all its own.

No flat sunburst. No generic finish. These dials were meant to have texture you can see.

 

DETAILS WITH MEANING

The Crane Field carries its story throughout the watch rather than limiting it to an inscription on the back.

The origami crane logo sits prominently at 12 o'clock, while the pancreatic cancer ribbon is incorporated into the lower portion of the dial.

The printed Crane Field markings are designed with a subtle letterpress-inspired appearance, complementing the paper texture beneath them.

An orange accent on the seconds hand provides a small but deliberate flash of color as it travels around the dial.

Applied stainless-steel indices and numerals add dimension and nighttime visibility without taking away from the simplicity of the field-watch design.

 

HAND-WOUND FOR A REASON

Inside the Crane Field is a mechanical Hangzhou 7 Series hand-wound movement.

There is no battery and no automatic rotor winding the watch for you.

You wind it yourself.

That small daily interaction is part of what makes a mechanical watch special.

Turn the crown. Feel the mechanism come to life. Put it on your wrist and carry on with your day.

In a watch built around the importance of time, we wanted the experience of keeping it running to be intentional.

 

THE MOVEMENT IS PART OF THE WATCH

Turn the Crane Field over and the mechanical movement remains on display through an exhibition caseback.

The movement will feature custom engraving incorporating La Touraine, Crane, and pancreatic cancer awareness details created specifically for this collaboration.

Rather than hiding the mechanics behind a solid caseback, the exhibition window allows you to see the movement at work and appreciate the machine powering the watch.

Mechanical on the inside. Meaningful throughout.

HANGZHOU 7 SERIES HAND-WOUND MECHANICAL MOVEMENT

A traditional manually wound mechanical movement that makes winding the watch part of the ownership experience.

A transparent caseback showcases the custom-engraved mechanical movement inside.

SIGNED CRANE CROWN

The crown features the Crane logo as another subtle detail unique to the collaboration.

APPLIED LUMED INDICES AND NUMERALS

Raised stainless-steel hour markers and Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 provide dimension, legibility, and nighttime visibility.

SYRINGE-STYLE HANDS WITH C3 LUME

Classic field-watch hands provide clear readability while C3 lume keeps them visible after the lights go down.

ORANGE-ACCENTED SECONDS HAND

A carefully chosen orange accent provides contrast against all three textured dial colors.

TEXTURED PAPER-INSPIRED DIAL

Each dial uses a crumpled-paper and linen-inspired treatment designed to create visible depth and a tactile, handmade character.

PRINTED MINUTE TRACK

A clean perimeter track preserves the functional character expected from a traditional field watch.

COLOR-MATCHED TWEED STRAP

Each dial is paired with its own complementary tweed strap, reinforcing the warm, tactile character of the watch.

 

BUILT TO BE WORN

The Crane Field may carry a serious story, but we do not want it sitting untouched in a display case.

We want you to wear it.

Wear it traveling.

Wear it on an ordinary Tuesday.

Wear it to birthdays, weddings, dinners, vacations, and all of the moments that eventually become memories.

A watch created around the value of time should be there while you are actually living it.

 

WHY DELIVERY IS EXPECTED IN THE SECOND HALF OF 2027

We could rush the Crane Field directly into production.

We are choosing not to.

This design includes custom textured dials, a hand-wound mechanical movement, custom movement engraving, an exhibition caseback, unique dial printing, applied indices, custom straps, and several details that need to work together exactly as intended.

Before approving full production, Michael and I want to see the actual watch.

We want to inspect the dial texture.

We want to see the colors in natural light.

We want to evaluate the case proportions, movement finishing, engraving, lume, printing, straps, and overall feel on the wrist.

If something needs to be changed, we want to change it before hundreds of watches are made.

The prototype has to prove the concept first.

For that reason, estimated delivery is currently expected during the second half of 2027.

Because the Crane Field is still in development, final production specifications may receive minor adjustments as we evaluate the prototype and prepare the watch for manufacturing.

Net proceeds from the Crane Field will be donated to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

We know that one watch cannot solve this disease.
