The Atlantica Automatic draws its identity from the 1893 voyage of the SS La Touraine across the Atlantic, from Le Havre to New York.
A clean no-date dial, a brushed stainless-steel bezel, a raised chapter-ring minute track and a Miyota 8215 automatic movement come together in a sport watch with a history of its own. The story carries through to the back, where the caseback is engraved with the ship crossing the Atlantic beneath a sky of stars.
Rather than reproducing a traditional dive-watch look, the Atlantica uses maritime history and mechanical simplicity to find its own place in the collection. Four dials — Black Enamel Lacquer, Navy Blue, British Racing Green and Purple Sunburst Ombre — each shift with the light like sea, sky and night on the crossing.
The Story Behind the Watch
Built Around a Journey

Time You Can See
Dive Bezel Explained
The rotating bezel provides a simple visual way to track elapsed time without using a separate timer.
Align the zero marker on the bezel with the minute hand when timing begins. As the minute hand moves around the dial, its position against the bezel scale indicates approximately how many minutes have passed.
The result is one of the most useful analog functions found on a dive-style watch.
It can be used to track time in the water as well as everyday intervals such as workouts, cooking, parking, meetings, or other short activities.
Set. Track. Read.
How to Use an Elapsed-Time Bezel

1. Set
Rotate the bezel until the zero marker is aligned with the minute hand.

2. Track
Begin the activity and leave the bezel in position as the minute hand continues around the dial

3. Read
Look at where the minute hand intersects the bezel scale. The number indicates approximately how many minutes have elapsed.
Designed for Low-Light Readability
Luminous material absorbs energy from surrounding light and releases that stored energy as a visible glow when conditions become darker.
It's applied tohands, hour markers, dial elements, and bezel, making the time and key orientation points easier to identify when ambient light is reduced.
The Atlantica uses:
BGW9 lume on the dial
BGW9 lume on the hands
Water Resistance Is a System
Water resistance does not come from one component alone.
It depends on several parts of the watch working together, including:
- Case
- Crystal
- Crown
- Caseback
- Internal gaskets and sealing components
These components create barriers at the areas where water could otherwise enter the watch.
Secure at the Crown
A screw-down crown threads into the watch case rather than simply pushing into position.
When properly secured, the threaded crown and its sealing components contribute to the watch's overall water-resistant construction.
The crown should be fully secured before the watch is intentionally exposed to water.
Materials Chosen for the Job

Sapphire Crystal
Sapphire provides a hard, highly scratch-resistant transparent surface over the dial. It helps protect one of the largest exposed surfaces of the watch while maintaining a clear view of the hands and dial beneath it. Do not describe sapphire as scratch-proof.

Anti-Reflective Coating
Where fitted, an anti-reflective coating helps reduce distracting reflections and improve visibility through the crystal.
When the coating is applied to the underside of the sapphire, it receives additional protection from direct external contact.

Brushed stainless-steel bezel with engraved black markings
Its stainless-steel bezel is part of its own design language.

316L Stainless Steel
316L stainless steel provides a strong combination of corrosion resistance, durability, finishing flexibility, and everyday wearability. It is particularly appropriate for watches designed to encounter water, sweat, travel, and regular use.
The Engine Inside
Movement Overview
The movement changes how a watch behaves and how the owner interacts with it. La Touraine Dive models use both quartz and automatic mechanical movements.
Automatic — Mechanical Ownership
An automatic movement uses a mechanical mainspring rather than a battery. Movement of the wearer's wrist turns a rotor inside the watch, which helps wind the mainspring. Automatic movements can also be manually wound where supported by the caliber. For many enthusiasts, the appeal is not simply telling time—it is interacting with a mechanical system operating continuously on the wrist.
Atlantica — Miyota 8215
The Atlantica uses the Miyota 8215 automatic movement.
It is a straightforward mechanical caliber built around traditional three-hand timekeeping and automatic winding. Its character suits the Atlantica's broader design philosophy: mechanical, purposeful, and uncomplicated.
The no-date dial reinforces that simplicity visually.
Built Around the Wrist
The way a watch connects to the wrist has a major effect on comfort, fit, weight, and overall personality.
Will it fit my wrist?
Case diameter is only one measurement. Lug-to-lug length, case thickness, lug curvature and the bracelet all shape how a watch wears.
Measurements remain in the Specifications drawer.
Can I get the fit right?
Jubilee-style stainless-steel bracelet
Glide-lock-style adjustable clasp
Quick-release spring bars
Is it built for every day?
Crafted from 316L stainless steel and protected by sapphire crystal, the Atlantica is designed for daily wear, travel, and water-ready use.

Dive Watch Questions, Answered
How does the rotating bezel work?
Align the bezel's zero marker with the minute hand at the start of an activity. As the minute hand advances, its position against the bezel shows approximately how many minutes have elapsed.
Why does the bezel rotate in one direction on certain models?
A unidirectional bezel is designed to rotate in only one direction. It is a traditional functional characteristic of elapsed-time dive-watch bezels.
Only describe a bezel as unidirectional on models where that construction is confirmed.
What does the water-resistance rating mean?
The published water-resistance rating describes the watch's resistance to water pressure under specified test conditions.
It should not be interpreted as ISO certification or a guarantee that every activity is appropriate at the numerical depth printed on the watch.
Are La Touraine Dive watches ISO 6425 certified?
No ISO 6425 certification is claimed for these watches.
What is lume?
Lume is luminous material applied to selected areas of a watch. After exposure to light, it releases stored energy as a visible glow, making important dial and bezel elements easier to locate when conditions become darker.
Why use sapphire crystal?
Sapphire creates a hard, highly scratch-resistant transparent surface that protects the dial while maintaining clarity.
It is scratch resistant, not scratch-proof.
What does an anti-reflective coating do?
An anti-reflective coating helps reduce distracting reflections from the crystal and improves visibility of the dial.
On models where the coating is applied underneath the sapphire, the coating is protected from direct external contact.
Quartz or automatic: what's the difference?
Quartz movements use a battery and electronic regulation. They prioritize accuracy, convenience, and low day-to-day maintenance.
Automatic watches use a mechanical mainspring and winding system. They require no battery and are powered through wrist movement and, where supported, manual winding.
Neither is inherently better; they provide different ownership experiences.
Does an automatic watch need a battery?
No. The NH35, Miyota 8215, and Miyota 9015 are mechanical automatic movements and do not require a battery.
Does a quartz watch need winding?
No. The Miyota 2115 used in the Maritimer and Maritimer Sport is battery powered.
What is special about the Subnautica movement?
The Subnautica uses an NH35 automatic movement that La Touraine regulates prior to delivery.
Do not publish a specific regulation tolerance unless La Touraine establishes and documents one.
What is different about the Seafarer 39mm and 43mm?
Both versions share the core Seafarer design and Miyota 9015 automatic platform.
The main difference is wrist presence.
The 39mm offers a more compact, traditional fit, while the 43mm creates a larger and more substantial presentation.
Exact dimensions are available in each model's Specifications drawer.
What is the story behind Atlantica?
The Atlantica is inspired by the 1893 voyage of the SS La Touraine from Le Havre to New York.
Its design incorporates that maritime story through its dial treatments, caseback artwork, mechanical movement, and overall sport-watch character.
Why doesn't Atlantica have a date?
The no-date configuration keeps the dial clean and symmetrical while reinforcing the straightforward mechanical character of the watch.
How should I care for my watch after saltwater use?
When appropriate for the fitted strap or bracelet, rinse the watch with fresh water after saltwater exposure and dry it with a clean soft cloth.
Make sure the crown is fully secured before water exposure.
